Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)

Enfield CCG is responsible for planning and buying health services for the residents of Enfield. Like all clinical commissioning groups, it is led by clinicians and these doctors are heavily involved in ensuring the appropriate provision of local health services, plus working even more closely with other organisations in making decisions about local health matters.

Enfield CCG is committed to ensuring that it commissions sustainable, high quality, safe, effective and efficient health care services with a focus on improving the patient experience on behalf of the population of Enfield. It is led by the Governing Body (Board) on behalf of the 53 member GP practices, serving a patient population of 303,362. The borough is divided into 4 localities along geographical lines which align well with local demography. Each locality has elected 2 GP representatives to the Board.

Commissioning looks at:

  • Understanding the health needs of the population
  • Designing and redesigning services
  • Buying the services
  • Measuring the impact of services
